Sign of the Chair, LLC is committed to producing the highest quality bespoke furniture. We make and sell most types of furniture and use traditional methods and tools to create each unique piece of furniture.

The trade of cabinetmaking emerged from the joiners trade in the early 18th century, to satisfy a growing need for fashionable decoration and furniture within the home.  Cabinetmaking, as its name would indicate,  is a trade which produced furniture for the cabinet (a room within a home).  Cabinetmakers often undertook more than designing and building furniture.  Large firms in the 18th century had the capacity to provide carpets, wall paper hangings, pottery, decorative paper mâché crown molding, carvings, undertaking and upholding.

Today we welcome custom orders as well as offer a diverse range of uniquely southern and English pieces.
